Day 14

Day 14 started out tired.  Meredith and one of their close family friends were coming by for a visit, and Rob and I had visions of handing them the baby and taking a nap.  We were not quite that rude, but we did wash some bottles and change out some laundry.  I think they understood.  We really enjoyed getting to meet Jessica, as we have  thoroughly enjoyed all of Meredith’s family and friends.  After the visit, it was time to get ready for our  two week check-up, which of course was on his two week birthday. Duh.  Since we had done our dress rehearsal yesterday, things went off without a hitch.  Doc answered all of our new parent questions, told us he was a healthy little boy, and gave us his new weight…. 7 pounds 10 ounces!  He gained a half pound!  I wish I was this excited about my own Iowa weight gain.  Since we like to be consistent, we again went to Panera Bread after our doctors appointment – and then made a quick trip to Target to pick up some more supplies the doctor suggested.  Honestly, I have been to Target so many times in the past two weeks, that I’m barely tempted to browse anymore.

A couple other important notes:  We played the Iowa lottery yesterday.  And we didn’t get one number.  The thing is clearly rigged.  Also, in case you are wondering, yes – I am wearing the same outfit to the doctors office both days.  But I did brush both my hair and my teeth in between.
