Pumpkin Patch

We had big plans today. Brendan’s school was having a field trip to a pumpkin patch near our house. It wasn’t a normal everyone get on a bus field trip – but people were meeting there at a certain time, and we were pretty excited. As the weekend got closer, I started asking all our favorite teachers if they were going – and none of them were! Not one of them! Neither were any of Brendan’s best buddies. So instead of trying to get there at the designated time, we stopped and had breakfast at one of our favorite spots, then rolled over to the patch at our leisure.

We brought Uncle Frank and Auntie Jess with us, and all of us had a great time. We did lots of exploring:

We found goats and horses and big cows and little cows. Once he realized that he could pick pieces of the corn growing nearby and feed it to the great big cow, he didn’t want to leave.

We went on wheelbarrow rides:

We found a teepee made of hay:

We went into a barn with all kinds of treasures:

And of course we examined pumpkins, although I am sad to say that was Brendan’s least favorite part of the trip. His most favorite part, was that the ‘roads’ on the pumpkin farm were all paved with rocks. He felt it was his duty to examine each one of them. He even offered one to a goat.
