Boston (so far)

I realized that most of the visit can be summed up in three words:
Eating, cousins, and fantasy football. Okay, that’s four words, but you get the idea.

I’m not going to say much about the eating, because it’s just embarrassing. I like to blame the time change for making me want that extra whoopie pie after everyone else is in bed, but there is really no good excuse. The boys always want to sit next to each other during meals, which is pretty adorable:

Our annual fantasy football draft was this weekend, and of course I showed up with my binder covered in unicorns to flaunt that there is a GIRL in the league, and of course I am going to dominate this year. But the main point I want to make here is that last year Brendan was a tiny infant curled up in my arms – and this year he was working the room. He actually went down for a nap soon after we started the actual draft, and woke up in time to congratulate his Mama on a great roster, and to say goodbye to everyone. In other words, he did perfectly.

These two were hosting a gun show to try and pre-fund their fantasy football loss this year:

The rest of the trip is all about cousins. Cousins playing, cousins laughing, cousins helping Brendan look for airplanes, cousins posing for pictures in matching pj’s.

A few other Brett quotes that slay me – Brendan had just hit Brett over the head with a toy and as I told Brendan no and helped him apologize to his cousin, Brett told me, “It’s okay – he can hit me with anything he wants.” Later in the day we were going to give Brendan a bath – Brett was spending the night and I asked him if he wanted to come help. “I was just going to play with my legos” he said. I totally understood. As patient as Brett is, it’s a lot easier to play with his legos once his younger brothers aren’t around. Less than a minute later, Brett appeared in the bathroom and said, “I can play with legos anytime, I want to help give Brendan a bath.” Then he sat in the bathroom and gave Brendan his very best bath toys, an didn’t even budge when he got splashed.

There are a few more pictures here, Mom. Time for me to go to bed (even though my laptop computer lays it’s 8:30 California time) and re-charge for another day of memories.
