Before I had a baby of my own, I was fortunate enough to learn about what it was like in the butterfly room from getting to be there as “Auntie Lori” when Charlie Aron was a baby. I wasn’t there every day, but I was there often enough to ease a lot of the fears that a first time mama would normally feel, dropping her infant off for the very first time.Now that I have had the full butterfly room experience as a mother, I want you to know how exceptional every aspect of the program has been. Everything is so organized and safe and FUN – and most of all, each of the three teachers are utterly amazing human beings. They are just exactly the right balance of ‘teacher’ and ‘family’. I know that they love and care for my child as a unique individual. They want the very best for him, and have helped him start off in the greatest way possible toward building the character of the man I want to raise. I have never, ever had to worry about Brendan being in their care. I love that they have excellent perception and intuition. I love that they call if they ever have a concern – and that they also call when he is saying ‘bubble’ for the first time. Leaving this room is so much harder for me than dropping him off on his very first day – and that is a huge testament to the caliber of the program, and the teachers that you have hired.
I can’t say enough about these three women. As a manager, I believe in offering feedback because I know that everyone wants to improve and do their best. But when it comes to Jennifer, Sarah – and of course Gracie, I can’t think of a single thing that they can do to improve. Anyone in my group would tell you that is a rare thing for me to say. =) I have thought about picketing outside the butterfly room with signs that say, ‘heck no, we won’t go!’, but instead I have decided to trust that our experience in the next room will leave me feeling just as grateful to the two of you for providing such a wonderful environment for the most important person in my life.
