I know you expected to see a little boy dressed in his Easter best, looking for eggs, going through his first Easter basket… And we did manage to steal a few Easter moments, but mostly the peanut and I have been in our pj’s – sick and grouchy, and making Daddy wait on us hand and foot. Funny I would choose to use that phrase, because we actually had hand, foot, and mouth disease. I feel like the word ‘disease’ makes it sound worse than it is, but it still isn’t very fun. It had been going around daycare, and Brendan started with a mild fever Friday night. Saturday the fever got worse, he stayed attached to us at all times, and our little man didn’t seem like he would be up for our Easter visit to Grandma and Grandpa’s house. We were all sad. Then Saturday night, the fever hit mommy. Most of the time adults are immune, but I insist on sharing everything with my son. The good news is, we’ve spent lots and lots and lots of time cuddling.

I will spare you further details and just say that Daddy is a saint, that I do have some Easter basket pictures, as well as sad sick baby pictures – but for now here is one from this morning.
